manufacturing RB7’s rear wing
After my thermodynamic exam’s written, my RB7’s going on. What’ve changed since beginning of January? I’ve now finished the rear wing. At the moment he is at the paintshop. I’ve very big problems there because of the lacquer corrodes the glue. The glueing line between the flaps and the endplate is very thin, so the lacquer destroyed the glued connection. Two times the flaps fell off the plates. Now I hope I get it work. The wing itself is a bit of a disarragement. With endplates and wing configuration of Monza, it has a early season DRS flap. The reason is, that I want to make the Monza configuration anyway because of the missing slots which avoids the vortices. But I’ve already manufactured the DRS flap and did not want to destroy it. The head protection is also finished.
At the mo, I’m working on the side pod covers. I recognised that RB’s using a few variations of covers there. In pre season testing and in a few races, they used four-part covers with airbox,- left-and right side pod- and air emergence opening cover. At Monza airbox- and side pod covers were one part. I’ll make the four part cover.
Awesomely brutal! :DD
Gute gemarkrt 🙂
